AÉROÉTS Graduate Student Scholarships


For 2020, AÉROÉTS is offering 7 scholarships for graduate-level students.

  • 4 Excellence Scholarships of 3 500 $ each for students in a thesis-based Master's or PhD program at ÉTS who are conducting research related to aerospace.
  • 3 Student Involvement Scholarships of 2000$ each for students in a Master's or PhD program at ÉTS who are involved as volunteers in aerospace-related activities.

Deadline to apply: 11:59 PM on Monday, June 1st 2020


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :

For the Excellence Scholarships :

  • At the time of application (Summer 2020 session): Registered as a full-time student in a thesis-based Master’s or PhD program at ÉTS and be conducting research related to the aerospace engineering field
  • Minimum CGPA of 3,5/4,3
  • Have completed at least 1 full session of your program at ÉTS
  • Not have been registered in the Master’s program more than 2 years (equivalent of 6 full-time sessions)
  • Not have been registered in the PhD program for more than 4 years (equivalent of 12 full-time sessions)

For the Student Involvement Scholarships :

  • At the time of application (Summer 2020 session): Registered as a full-time student in a Master’s (thesis-based or course-based) or PhD program at ÉTS
  • Minimum CGPA of 3,0/4,3
  • Have completed at least 1 full session of your program at ÉTS
  • Not have been registered in the Master’s program more than 2 years (equivalent of 6 full-time sessions)
  • Not have been registered in the PhD program for more than 4 years (equivalent of 12 full-time sessions)

  • A presentation letter (maximum 300 words or 1 page)
  • Your resume(CV)
  • A copy of your ETS transcript

SELECTION CRITERIA:

For the Excellence Scholarships :

Presentation Letter:
  • Degree of interest for the aerospace sector
  • Career objectives and relevance of your topic of research
  • Demonstration of an applied approach to engineering
  • Quality of the language (English or French).
Resume (CV):
  • The candidate's experience related to the aerospace sector
  • Diversity and quality of work experience
  • Relevance of the Master's or PhD thesis project to the aerospace sector
  • Demonstration of leadership skills and aptitude for teamwork.
Transcript:
  • Demonstration of academic excellence

For the Student Involvement Scholarships :

Presentation Letter:
  • Role, accomplishments and demonstration of leadership in your volunteer involvement in aerospace activities
  • Duration and continuity of involvement
  • Career objectives and how they relate to your student involvement
  • Benefits you have brought to other graduate students in aerospace
  • Quality of the language (English or French).
Resume (CV):
  • The candidate's experience related to the aerospace sector
  • Diversity and quality of work experience
  • Demonstration of leadership skills and aptitude for teamwork.

SELECTION PROCESS:

  • June 2, 2020: All applicants will be sent a confirmation of receipt
  • June 3 to 8, 2020: The selection committee will review the applications
  • June 9, 2020: Bursary recipients will be contacted by email (only those who are selected will receive an email)
  • Note that due to the current context the selection of the bursary have been delayed
  • Given the current context, the date at which scholarships shall be disbursed will be decided at a later date.
